Keith Allen Barros AKA "The People's Champ", 55, of Cumberland, RI, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. He fought a courageous battle against cancer.

Keith was born in Middleboro, MA, to Leonard J. Gomez and Cynthia A. Washington on April 12, 1969. He grew up in Carver, MA, and attended Plymouth Carver High School. He worked for many years as a Concrete Foreman. Keith loved his family and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and great-nephew. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Growing up, he enjoyed rap music and breakdancing with his cousins. He loved sharing stories of his cherished childhood memories. Lifting weights was one of his favorite pastimes. Keith was well-known for flexing and showing off his muscles, often punctuating the moment with one of his favorite phrases. He was known for his heart of gold. The neighborhood loved Keith, especially the teenagers, who affectionately called him "Pop Dukes." He mentored, sheltered, and loved them wholeheartedly. Keith touched the lives of everyone he met. He was truly one in a million and utterly unforgettable.

Keith is survived by his devoted companion Jennifer Laramee. They were together through thick and thin for 23 years. He is survived by his mother Cynthia A. Washington. He is survived by his children, Ericka Barros, Keith Barros, Trai Pina, India Pina, and Noah Pina of Carver, Massachusetts, Briana Pelletier, Jenna Lapan, Gia Laramee, and Jada Laramee of Cumberland, Rhode Island. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Charlise Gomez and Leonard Gomez of West Haven, Connecticut, Belinda Gomez of Augusta, Georgia, and Justin Lima of Rhode Island. He leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the service that will be held on Sunday, March 16th from 1pm-4pm at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI. Burial private.

Memorial donations can be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Keith’s Oncologist Team at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. A special gratitude to his Primary Care Physician Dr. Kaitlyn Patroque. She went above and beyond to help Keith through this journey. She is an angel!
